FamilyView Privacy Policy

FamilyView is a family monitoring service that helps parents transparently manage their minor child's smartphone usage together.

1. Information We Collect

• App usage time and per-app usage sessions
• Battery level trends
• Device identifier (Android ID) — not used for advertising
• Connection status and bypass-detection events
• Parent (guardian) account: email address via Google Sign-In — used for account identification and family recovery on device change/reinstall. Not used for advertising.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect message or call content, contacts, photo/file content, location (GPS), keystrokes, or screen captures.

3. Purpose of Use

Checking the child's smartphone usage status, forming healthy usage habits, and notifying (not blocking) attempts to bypass monitoring.

4. Transparency

The child app displays a persistent notification ("FamilyView running") while active and does not hide the fact that monitoring is in place.

5. Retention and Deletion

Data is retained for the duration of the service, and some data (e.g., battery data) is automatically deleted after 48 hours. Parents can permanently delete family and child data from the parent app. See Account Deletion for the deletion procedure.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell or provide collected data to third parties, and we do not provide it to advertising networks. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.

7. Children's Privacy and Guardian Consent

Because this service collects a child's data, we obtain the legal guardian's consent during setup and record the time and version of that consent. We do not collect data without guardian consent under the US COPPA (under 13) and Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (under 14) standards, and the child's device always displays a persistent notification that monitoring is active. We do not serve advertising to children.
